ITT F9810

Postby mugur » Mon Oct 21, 2013 1:03 am

This is the darkest area i could find. Not dark enough though.
Unfortunately i am sure now that i will never manage to get a decent picture
unless i manage to make some sort of mount between my phone and the NVD... :(
or to change the phone with a camera

Holding the device with one hand while trying to align it with the phone and in the same time
to press the damn screen to focus and then to pres the "take photo" it's a no go...

P.S. Amazing how many stars are actually on the sky compared with what i can see with my eyes...

I think i am getting better or at least the "camera" is getting better.
Changed the phone with a potato camera (small canon shit) but since this have some controls
i was able to try different settings. Next step is to find a tripod.

First 2 pictures were took in a very dark room. basically i could have stepped on the fat one there
with minimal chance to see any part of him. Fortunatelly, i know very well where he sleeps.

The next pictures were taken in urban environment some in quite dark, some with different lights.

To this moment (time might change this) i found out that this potato/canon/shit manages to take usable pictures
set on: auto mode, no flash, and macro ON. What is really annoying is that most of the time i cannot see 2 pictures with the same
"color"on them. Will try harder.

P.S. I've had a chance to compare it side by side with a PVS14 / 11769UV omni VII and i cannot see any difference than my eyes can
pick up. On 2 occasions i've had the impression that the PVS14 had bigger halo.

Excellent, especially the city shots. You're motivating me to try my hand. Unfortunately, I have a PVS-7, not the best for photography.

Thanks!

Amazing, how did you achieve such amazing clarity with PVS-7?
Any color you like...

Well, i have realized that pvs7 has some "limitations" due to the special optics on the oculars side.
So, i've used a "rig" that allows me to extend the objective of my potato Canon so much that basically it's
<1mm between the glass of the camera and the glass of the ocular. That was the only tricky part.

After this, i have followed David advices regarding NV photography.
Now,as you know, what i can see with my eyes is better than in this pictures.

Exactly, I didn't believe it was a pvs-7 even after he had mentioned the tube. EXCELLENT job, IMO. :)

S3 returns :)

I have managed to make a more portable "rig" to use my phone when i go out for pictures.
As i said previously, my phone was doing shit before this. Still not in the same class with the results from my potato/shit/canon
but at least are usable pictures now and i don't have to carry the whole shitload every time i need a picture. Worse thing about S3 is that
you can lower the EV just to -2. Would have been great to have -3 or so...
