Tube sounds like if it was autogated.

Now, who knows in what housing does it sit? 8)

Attempt to hide Serial or repot?
Since the watermark says Replicabanned it could be PVS21, but they use 16mm tubes.
Guess Flex is King here.

no, tubes is not repot nor was the serialnumber removed. (it is on the side of the tube)
No, has nothing to do with PVS-21.
But nice try! :)
After 2 more guesses another pic will follow.

AVS6?

Anyway, it is a little too early for autogated. Might have transformer delamination but I wouldn't expect it.

How well does it work?

No, it is not an AVS-6, but closer then a 21 or a tank unit.

Here is the other tube, compared to a normal avs tube.

The tubes perform excellent, great SN, both have got a halo of only 0,6mm!! (and that in 1997!)

David, both tubes sounds as if they where autogated, they both also need 2 sec. to power up.

Some more info: they are goggles, only 10 units where ever made, gov. payed 5,4 mil. for these 10 units. ;)

Ps. look at the reflections on both fiberoptical output windows of the tree... hmm shouldn't they be the same? :D

Sounds like the Gen3+1 aviation tubes they were developing around that time. Possibly from a Gen1 back-end - That was when they were developing hybrid technology.

However I didn't think any made it out of the labs from what I read - Are you able to get it x-rayed at all?

The tubes belong to a anvis 8 housing.(it is written on the tubes...)
The tubes have an other curvature on the outputwindow then normal anvis tubes, because the anvis 8 has 45° optics.
The oculars have a very weird filter... it refelcts red, and if you look through it, it makes all look green.(after unscrewing it first)

Hmm maybe I could ask my dentist if he could x-ray a tube :P
