ITT Tube ID

Postby crye-baby » Thu Feb 17, 2011 5:28 pm

Anybody want to take a stab at this tube. Found it in a WTS add. The seller gave a small ammount of info. ITT - Autogated - Adjustable gain - CAD0804 - contract # W15P7T-04-A-J208 - no tube model was given, but from looking around on here it sounds like an MX-11769\uv OMNI VII thats a mil. model right. he wanted $3300.00 from what I remember.

It is MX-11769/UV, Pinnacle autogated with OMNI VI specs.
$3,300.00 is way too much, especially since it's a walk-off

You're warmly welcome, sir. I hope it helps you avoid doing a big mistake.
You can perfectly legally buy a civilian autogated type with practically identical performance for say a grand less.
Ask for either ITT F9815 thin-film autogated tube. Or the competitor's type L-3 M814 of OMEGA/INFINITY class.

Ask for a specsheet if possible. It should have nice high values of resolution (at least 64 lp/mm), SNR (at least 25) and sensitivity (everything over 2000 uA/lm is already very good). Luminous gain should exceed 50000. Don't forget to check for low EBI value, it should be as much below 2E-11 as it gets, helps you get a nice rich image full of contrast.

Good luck !
