.22lr Hunting Scope/ New guy needs help

Postby dansjeep2000 » Mon Apr 16, 2012 2:35 pm

New guy here, Name is Dan and I live in Michigan. I will try and not be to much of a noob.

I have a Savage Mark II FV-SR .22lr threaded for my Sparrow SS can, I am looking to top the package off with a good (read affordable) NV scope. My budget is $500-800ish, if I could buy it from Sportsman's Guide that would be a plus. I know very little about NV and just want to avoid buying junk so I hope your expertise will save me some headaches in the future.

TIA, Dan

Hi Dan,

Regarding your budget you are probably stuck with GEN1. All the scopes are pretty equal as far as tubes go. So take the one that fits you gun properly and invest in a decent IR illuminator!
Of the GEN1 riflescopes I've seen the Yukon brand were the best made ones imho.

My 2nd advice. Try to safe up and buy a decent 2nd gen at least. The forum owner has pretty decent gear for sale.

For instance!

Cheers,

Dan,

So long as your keeping your shots inside of 100 yards either of the units listed below will fit your budget and provide you with very workable performance.

All recommended units are available through Sportsman's Guide.
